Welcome back - now before we move on to the final Administrator tools,
0:12
let’s go back and take a look at the ways that you can organize your audio files into different Playlists.
0:19
You could select the plus icon over here in the Playlists window, name your Playlist
0:24
this is going to be Awesome Playlist - and then drag your desired audio files over that name and release.
0:32
You could also start by highlighting your desired files
0:35
and dragging them into a blank area to create a new Playlist
0:39
You can re-order the files in your playlist, you can add or delete them,
0:44
and then you could have an Audio Player play the playlist rather than a specific file.
0:49
Now in order to do this, you’re going to have to be sure to go to your Audio Player’s Properties panel
0:54
and change its “Playlist Capable" field to Yes, that way you can give it access to your playlist.
1:01
That way you can go to your Playlists field and choose one of your playlists from your Administrator.
1:05
Feel free to create new directories in these audio folders to keep your files organized.
1:10
You can always delete the new directories you create,
1:12
but you can never delete any of the basic folders that come preloaded.
1:17
The final tab in the Q-SYS Administrator is the Event Log.
1:20
This window will keep a list of notable events that have taken place in your running design.
1:25
This log will remain until you upload a new design or change the version of your current design.
1:30
If you would like to save your event log before it is purged,
1:33
you could simply copy all the text and then paste it to a word processor or appropriate program,
1:39
or you could save your current design as a new name and then the current event log will be saved with it.
1:45
The main window of the Event Log lets you Reload the display with any new events from today,
1:50
you can Clear the log of all events, or filter the list by many different categories.
1:55
You could filter by Severity and select Normal Events,
1:58
or Error Events, you could filter by Category, or by the Date.
2:04
Certain events in a log will repeat – for instance if a device’s status drops from OK
2:09
then an Error message will log, and it will be repeated again in 10 minutes,
2:13
6 hours, 12 hours and every 12 hours thereafter until the problem is corrected.
2:18
The log will even specify how long the problem has persisted, making it easy to find and correct any errors.
2:24
So, that completes the walkthrough of the Q-SYS Administrator
2:27
Remember that there are still three other tabs available which control your Public Address systems,
2:32
so check out our Paging tutorial for information on those.
2:35
One final thing – you may have noticed while following along with this tutorial
2:39
is that any time you make a change, this notification bar appears at the top of the Administrator window
2:44
notifying you that changes have been made.
2:47
You need to select “Update" to apply any changes you have made in the Administrator
2:50
to the current design before they’ll be active. So now you should have a clear understanding
2:55
of how to operate each of the areas of the Administrator and are ready to take the assessment.
2:59
Thanks for watching, we’ll see you next time.

To allow an Audio Player to play a playlist, be sure to change its “Playlist Capable” field to “Yes” in its Properties panel.

An error message in the Event Log will repeat in 10 minutes, 6 hours, 12 hours, and every 12 hours thereafter until the error is repaired.
