An introduction to Automatic Camera Preset Recall (ACPR)

Transcript

00:06
There’s nothing more frustrating than sitting on a video call as a remote participant
00:11
where all you can see is a big room and tiny faces
00:14
– or worse,
00:15
you’re left looking at an empty whiteboard while the action is back at the table.
00:20
In many cases, systems are only as good as those driving them,
00:24
but what if you don’t need a driver?
00:27
The Q-SYS Automatic Camera Preset Recall plugin
00:30
automatically highlights the active talker in a meeting room.
00:33
No user intervention is required – thankfully.
00:37
This automation gives your remote users a seamless experience without requiring anyone
00:43
from in the room to be “in charge” of the camera view,
00:46
allowing them to fully participate
00:49
(or not … JERRY!).
00:54
Let’s take a look.
00:56
When a participant speaks,
00:57
the microphone detects their position and relays the necessary data to the Q-SYS Core
01:03
which in turn triggers any number of the cameras location presets.
01:07
If a second person begins to speak, the microphone identifies the location,
01:12
and the Core processor instructs the camera to move to the appropriate location,
01:16
but it doesn’t switch to the new camera until it’s completed the movement,
01:21
so your far-end participants never need to suffer through watching unnecessary camera movement.
01:26
If a single speaker cannot be identified like if
01:30
the room is silent or if a far-end participant is an active talker,
01:35
the plugin can be configured to show a wide shot to incorporate all participants
01:39
within the room instead of remaining on a close-up of someone who is no longer speaking.
01:44
And if someone gets up from their seat and moves to the front of the room,
01:48
whether to give a presentation or to stretch their legs,
01:52
once they begin to speak,
01:53
the rear camera quickly moves in to capture them,
01:57
and then Q-SYS switches from the wide shot to the new camera view.
02:00
The best part is that this plugin is available today for free from Q-SYS Asset Manager
02:03
inside Q-SYS Designer Software.
02:05
Thanks for watching,
02:06
and we’ll see you next time.
