Setting Up Multi-Presenters

Video Transcript

00:07
Welcome back.
00:08
So far, we've covered using a tracking camera
00:10
and adding a static view camera for a whiteboard, perhaps.
00:14
But what if we want to do different things depending on how many people are on the stage?
00:18
Well, you can imagine a scenario where
00:20
you're tracking camera is so far zoomed in on the presenter that
00:24
it can't even see that there's someone else who's walked onto the stage.
00:28
Now, for this reason,
00:29
we can add a conductor camera.
00:31
This is a third type of camera which can be used to analyze the entire stage at all times.
00:37
And it does this using the second channel of a Seervision server.
00:41
This means that our camera can always
00:43
see how many people are on stage and you can take different actions
00:46
depending on the number of people.
00:49
Let's take a look at how we do that.
00:51
As we mentioned earlier,
00:52
a two channel Seervision server is running two
00:54
completely separate instances of the Seervision .
00:58
We can access that second instance by putting “/2” at the end of the IP address
01:03
or by pressing the button at the top of the Seervision user interface.
01:07
I've already linked this second instance to my conductor camera
01:10
and you can see that the conductor camera has a really good view of
01:12
the whole presentation area at all times.
01:16
This is perfect because we can add a trigger zone to keep track of all people on stage,
01:20
even when the tracking camera is fully zoomed in.
01:25
Of course,
01:25
because there are displays inside the trigger zone.
01:27
We've also added a couple of exclusion zones to
01:30
make sure people shown on screen do not trigger events.
01:34
We'll also add a conductor camera to our Seervision plug in properties
01:38
and then open up the plug in to see what's changed.
01:41
You can see that the setup page lets us add another series,
01:44
an IP address and another instance for the conductor camera.
01:47
And we also have a conductor cameras page,
01:50
which looks exactly the same as our tracking cameras page,
01:54
because of course both of these cameras can have trigger zones that
01:57
interact with the plug in in the same way.
01:59
From the setup page,
02:00
we can now link the plugin to the second instance on our Seervision server,
02:05
and we're going to do this in exactly the same way we did in the basic presenter tracking video.
02:09
With everything connected,
02:11
our first job is to create an event for
02:12
when there are multiple people in that big trigger zone.
02:16
This will be when someone enters the zone in addition to the first presenter.
02:19
So we'll set the event type to entered and the persons to 2+.
02:25
This will work for any number of people above one.
02:28
For the action,
02:29
we're going to recall a position container which frames the entire stage.
02:33
We also need an event for when the second presenter
02:36
leaves with only one presenter remaining.
02:38
So let's change the event type to leave and the persons to one
02:43
because there's one person remaining after the event.
02:47
When this happens,
02:47
we want to go back to tracking on the tracking camera.
02:50
So we'll choose our tracking container here.
02:52
Note that with these two events,
02:54
we're recalling tracking and position containers on camera one,
02:58
but the triggers are from camera two,
03:00
which is the conductor camera.
03:02
So let's see it in action.
03:03
Here we have one person being tracked.
03:05
Note that there is another person on the display,
03:08
but that's not doing anything because it's in an exclusion zone,
03:11
which is why that person has a red box around them.
03:15
Now we see the second presenter appear.
03:17
You can see that as soon as they're recognized and their bounding box turns green,
03:21
we also get a trigger LED in Q-SYS for the entered event.
03:25
Immediately, you can see the tracking camera
03:27
moving towards the position container we set up to frame the whole stage.
03:32
Now once these guys have finished chatting and the second presenter leaves,
03:35
we can see that we get a triggered LED for the leave event
03:39
and the camera starts moving back towards its tracking container.
03:44
So that's how you set up multiple presenters.
03:46
Now you've covered a lot in this course,
03:49
hardware and software getting connected to Q-SYS,
03:52
basic tracking, adjusting the tracking,
03:54
exclusion zone, static view cameras, multiple presenters,
03:58
and you're one assessment away from being Seervision commissioning level one certified.
04:03
Now, remember, once you get certified,
04:05
you still need to sign up for Seervision commissioning
04:07
level two in order to be able to commission,
04:10
Seervision systems in the field.
04:12
There, you'll learn a whole lot more,
04:14
including adding in ACPR and auto framing to Seervision systems.
04:20
I'm sure we'll see you again soon, but regardless.
04:22
Thank you so much for coming to Seervision Commissioning Level one.
04:25
I hope you've learned a lot,
04:26
and we look forward to seeing you again.
04:29
Thanks so much.
