Q-SYS vCore Virtual Core – Use Cases

Video Transcript

00:00
First, we're looking at really a V-Core based space, okay?
00:03
And this is kind of a solution where the story is, uh, you know,
00:07
there's a kind of fixed limited budget here.
00:10
In this case, the end user already had an integrated video bar for us to work with,
00:14
so this is a perfect example of,
00:16
"Hey, I don't need Q-SYS audio or Q-SYS video management,
00:18
but I still want to normalize the experience with my higher impact Q-SYS based spaces.
00:24
" So let's dive into, you know, what this room gives us.
00:28
We've actually got a Lenovo compute, uh, here,
00:31
and that's actually providing us a platform to run the V-Core on.
00:36
We've got a seven-inch touch panel on the table,
00:37
and then we've got some Network Solutions for control of lighting,
00:40
HVAC, and occupancy sensor, and also Network controlled Shades.
00:44
Okay, so this is a really kind of native solution, um, that V-Core is best designed for.
00:51
So if we take a look at the schematic,
00:54
what we see here is really a full control solution for a small space like this.
00:58
So I've got really easy control of my display, both, you know,
01:03
power as well as status and monitoring of the sensors in the room as well.
01:12
You can see here we've got our occupancy sensor, which we already took a look at,
01:17
and we've also got a sensor in our tabletop touch panel.
01:20
So, rather than providing the end user with manual power control,
01:23
here you can see the route that we've chosen to take is to automatically
01:27
turn the room on anytime that the sensors sense the presence of a user in the room.
01:32
And then also use things like the date and time to automatically
01:36
shut that room down at the end of the day, right?
01:38
So really removing some complexity for the user
01:41
compared to a room that doesn't have a control system at all.
01:44
If we go and take a look at that user experience,
01:46
here you can see we've got full real-time control of our shades, our HVAC,
01:51
and because we can do both control and feedback here, you can see that as I adjust the HVAC,
01:56
it'll also update me as the room continues to change.
01:59
I've got control of my lights as well as feedback for that.
02:03
And then useful information for the end user, like how to adjust the volume on their own device.
02:09
And if they so choose, let's say we had a couple of wired connections here,
02:13
I could certainly change the input on the TV quite easily from here. Okay.
