K.2: Subwoofer
Video Transcript
00:07
Hi everybody, Chris here from QSC,
00:10
in this video we’re going to show you how to use your K.2 speakers with a subwoofer.
00:14
Some systems require a little more low end extension,
00:17
so we’re going to run through a couple scenarios that will help you select the best connection option for your set up.
00:23
Our first example, is to connect your left and right outputs from your mixer
00:27
to the A and B inputs on the subwoofer.
00:29
Underneath the inputs are parallel outputs that you can take to your left and right K.2 top boxes.
00:35
From there simply select the crossover setting in the top box that matches the crossover of subwoofer,
00:40
and now your system is optimized to work together.
00:43
In this setup, you can adjust your sub gain separately from your top
00:47
with the same outgoing signal from your mixer.
00:50
Our second subwoofer scenario uses an auxiliary output on your mixer.
00:54
Simply take your left and right outputs from your mixer to your left and right top boxes,
00:59
then use an auxiliary output plugged directly into the sub.
01:03
This gives you the ability to feed only the instruments that have low frequency into your sub
01:07
and have separate volume control at the mixer from your top boxes.
01:10
You still want to engage the crossover that matches the subwoofer
01:13
but this is a more professional set up that gives you better control over your sound.
01:17
So these are a couple of options on how you can connect your subwoofer with your K.2 top speakers
01:22
and get added low end extension, simply and easily.
